available light
What I like about this one is the strong lines of the barn vs. the amorphous random shapes of the hay. Lovely composition.
Faith in the Glow
Love the contrast between the warm light on the subject and the cool blues of the background.

Tower of Terror detail.
Disney MGM Studios Hat - Explored!
It sure is nice when the available light is as carefully designed as it is at a Disney theme park. :-)

Disney - Service Elevator
One of my favorite environments at Disney World is the cue area for Tower of Terror. The dark, rumbling room full of boilers, leading to the service elevators. This kind of environmental magic is what Disney does best.
Disney - Hollywood Tower Hotel from World Drive
It's my understanding that one of the original concepts for Tower of Terror was for it to actually be a hotel. I love how this shot makes it feel isolated.
Disney - Haunted Mansion (Explored)
Love the way the gray sky and muted tones add to the spooky feel of the place, even in daylight.

Stacia in the sun in Detroit at a workshop. Using natural light to advantage with a beautiful face.

Backlit with a bounce fill. Her dark hair helps the backlight keep from blowing out. Lovely!
Joseph...is...bored.
Okay, so here you can see the light source, a big window with some blinds, making for a nice soft light. Notice how the light hits the back wall, too. Nice.
Portrait of old lady in natural light
What makes this shot work for me is the light on the floor, giving it depth.
No Strobes, Just Natural Light
Great shot. Light from a nearby window provides a nice, soft light source, wrapping around her face.
Disney - A Magical Kingdom (Explored)
Beautifully framed, and the wet sidewalk adds texture to the foreground. Also, the serenity from the fact that there are no people in this shot, when it's usually a place teaming with human activity.
(We're heading on a Disney vacation in a couple of weeks, which may be why this one caught my eye!)
Somewhere Under The Rainbow III
Why is it I hear the NBC three-note ID in my head when I look at this photo?

Day 3/366.....Fire, Wood & Stone
My favorite part of this shot is the way the light reflects off the stones.
Decorative Fiona
I carry a string of christmas lights in my video light kit, because they are an easy way to get some light behind something, like books on a shelf. Put them on a dimmer and dial in the amount of light you need.
I can't claim to be a cat person, but this is a lovely photo with nice light.

Amazing
My virtual-pal Andy Ihnatko captured this wonderful portrait of James Randi, internationally beloved skeptic.
